- Robert Wesley Maley, 58, Verona, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, in his home under hospice care.
Mr. Maley was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Oakes, N.D. He graduated from Verona High School in 1963. He entered the U.S. Army in 1965 and served in the Dominican Republic until 1967. He was active in the Army Reserves until his discharge in 1971. He worked road construction until opening Bob's Bar in Verona. He owned and operated the business until 1987. On Jan. 11, 1973, he married Deb Gemar. He received a certificate in electronics from Southeast Vocational Center in Oakes. He managed the Oakes American Legion Club until 1994, when he began working at the Verona Elevator, where he was manager.
He is survived by a son, Wesley, Verona; three daughters, Reva (Chad) Bohnenkamp, Oakes, Angie (Tim) Bollinger, Monango, N.D., Monica Maley, Gwinner, N.D.; two brothers, John "Jackie" (Pat), Seattle, Gerald, Fargo; three sisters, Cookie (Ken) Jensen, Fargo, Lois (Herb) Hill, Spearfish, S.D., Mary (Randy) Nelson, Oakes; and three grandchildren.
Visitation: Today from 1-8, with a prayer service at 7, in Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes.
Funeral: Wednesday at 10:30 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Verona.
Burial: Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Verona.
