OBITUARY
Mollie Wallace
Mollie (Rustvold) Wallace, 98, a longtime Great Falls resident and retired Bureau of Reclamation employee, died of natural causes Friday in Hayden, Idaho.
Her funeral is 1 p.m. Friday at Croxford and Sons Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Survivors include sons Robert Wallace of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her husband, Harry, died in 1980.
Additional survivors include a daughter-in-law, Sally Wallace of Coeur d'Alene. Her grandchildren and great children.
Mollie was born January 13, 1904, in Hendrum, Minnesota, to Andrew Anders and Anne (nee Gangovnet) Rustvold. She moved to Great Falls in 1919 to live with her sister and brother-in-law.
She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1923. While in high school, she met Harry Wallace, and they were married July 3, 1925. Mollie and Harry had two children, Shirley Ann Wallace, who died in infancy, and Robert Harry Wallace. Mollie and Harry enjoyed a full and active life together until Harry passed away December 30, 1980.
In her younger years, Mollie was a member of the Great Falls YMCA Volley Ball Team, which won the state championship one year. She also was active playing mixed doubles in badminton, winning several trophies. In her later years, she was an avid golfer, playing into her late 80s. She was a member of the Meadow Lark Country Club and also enjoyed playing bridge and bingo. She was also a lifetime active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Great Falls.
Mollie retired in 1966 after working 24 years for the Bureau of Reclamation. At the time of her death, she as near her son, Robert, in Idaho.
Mollie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her love of life, dedication to family and generosity.
