- Gladys P. Gunderson, 79, 605 W. Third St., died Tuesday in a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home. The Rev. A. T. Washington, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mrs. Gunderson, the former Gladys P. Stott, was born April 7, 1905, in Lake City, Iowa. She lived in Canada as a child and then came to Sioux City. She married Roy Nels Hanson Feb. 16, 1924, in Sioux City. He died here in 1955. She married Carl O. Gunderson in 1956 in Sioux City. He died here in 1965. She was a Methodist and was a member of the Siouxland Handicap Association. Survivors include a son, Donald Hanson of Omaha; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Dolores) Jacobson of Evergreen, Colo.; three stepsons, Gerald Gunderson of Sioux City, Carl Gunderson of Phoenix, Ariz. and James Gunderson of South Sioux City; six stepdaughters, Mrs. Johnny (Edna) Smith of Phoenix, Mrs. Don (Ida) Junck of Sioux Falls, S. D., Mrs. Marvin (Doris) Shadbolt of Jefferson, S. D., Mrs. Gary (Joyce) Rhine of Kennewick, Wash., Mrs. Melvin (Norma) Menard of Commerce City, Colo. and Karen Stockham of Sioux City; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 38 stepgrandchildren and 33 stepgreat-grandchildren.
