- Harlan D. Moat died Monday, Oct. 5, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Kamrath, pastor of the New Creations Ministries, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today with the family present 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Moat was born April 23, 1936, in Tracy, Minn., the son of Harvey and Martha (Andersen) Moat. He married Deanna Petersen Oct. 11, 1958, in Slayton, Minn. She died Oct. 12, 1987, in Sioux City. He married Connie Schleis Aug. 10, 1988, in Smithland, Iowa. He was employed as a meat cutter at IBP inc. in Dakota City, retiring in September 1991 because of poor health. The couple managed the Metz Apartments in Sioux City. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Moat was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in South Sioux City. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Martha Moat of Tracy, Minn.; two brothers, Orville of Tracy and Wayne of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Ardyce Johnson of Tracy, Arleen Johannsen of Slayton, Minn., and Alyce Falin of Lexington, Ky.; a stepson, Kim Rubendall of Clinton, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Kathee Price of Mapleton, Iowa; and four step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Orlan and Roger; and a sister, Audrey.
