1805	Dolores Ethel (Depute) Drangsholt, 80, Antler, ND, died Friday, January 26, 2007 following a courageously fought battle against cancer. Dolores was born on August 27, 1926, in Berthold, ND, to William and Eva (Hennessy) Depute. She was raised and educated near Berthold, graduating from Berthold High School in 1945. After High School, Dolores attended Minot State Teachers College. Dolores started her teaching career at South Prairie, rural Minot. She later started teaching at Sherman School, rural Antler, where she met Thomas Drangsholt. Thomas and Dolores were married on June 27, 1951. Together they made their home on a farm Southwest of Antler, ND. Dolores continued her teaching career at Antler Public School. After Thomas died in 1984, she continued to live on the farm, enjoying her rural lifestyle until July of 2005, when she moved to Minot. Dolores was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antler and later joined the St. James Catholic Church in Sherwood, ND. Dolores served on the Wheaton Township board, Bottineau County FHA, Bottineau County Homemakers, Borderline Homemakers Member, 4-H leader for many years, a member of the Westhope Arts Guild, and worked as a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Center in Mohall. Dolores was a very talented person, who enjoyed many passions. Such as quilting, oil painting, flower and vegetable gardening, and loved to share her talents with friends and family. Her independence and loving spirit has touched many lives. Survivors include two daughters, Lila (Reid) Kukowski, Colstrip, MT and Linda (Gerald) Miller, Devils Lake, ND; granddaughters, Autum and Amy Kukowski, Colstrip, MT, grandsons, David and Cody Miller, Devils Lake, ND: sisters, Marcella Depute, Minot, Gertrude Simms, Spokane, WA, Donna Depute, Minot, Jane Depute, Jerusalem, Israel; brothers: Lawrence Depute, Berthold, Jerome Depute, Malta, MT, Daniel (Linda) Depute, Berthold, Francis (Julie) Depute, St. Paul, MN; sisters-in-law: Ann Drangsholt, Mohall, ND, Esther (Roy) Peterson, Antler, Margaret Hovde, Watford City, ND; brother-in-law, Chris Drangsholt, Mohall. 1806	Don was born on the family farm in Skandia Township, Murray County to Edwin and Anna Koch Anderson. He grew up in Murray County and attended country school. On September 29, 1951, Don enlisted in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge on September 4, 1953, he returned to the family farm and began farming. On September 11, 1955, he and Janet Smith were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Balaton, MN. Following their marriage they remained on the farm in Lowville Township, Murray County. In 1963, they moved to Slayton and Don worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Don also owned and ran Dons Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Repair. In 1967, they purchased the family farm and remained there until 2007 when they moved to Slayton. In January 2019, Don became a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, MN. Don passed away there at the age of 90. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton where he served on various committees, was an usher and served on the Church Board. Don was also a member of the Lake Wilson American Legion post, Ducks Unlimited and served on the Balaton Farmers Coop Board for 10 years. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, playing cards and collecting coins and toy tractors. Survivors include his wife, Janet Anderson, three children and their spouses, Michelle and Kerry Malmquist, Donald Jr. and Karlene Anderson, and Randall and Keri Anderson, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Anderson, and Luverne Anderson, and one sisterin-law, Martha Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Myron Anderson, one sister, Lorraine and her husband, Jerry Blamey and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Anderson and Sharon Anderson. Memorial services held from Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on December 6, 2019 with Rev. Dale Degner officiating. The honorary pallbearers are Tyler Anderon, Bjorn Pearson, Joe Miller, Scott Schwartz, Mark Bonnstetter, Jason Miller and Richard Miller. A private interment is planned. 1807	Donald A. Hammer, 84, died peacefully at his home on May 12, 2016 in Bemidji, Minnesota. Don is survived by his wife and caregiver of 62 years, Faye, three daughters: Colette (Bob) Erickson of Hayden Lake, ID, Larae (Roger) Peterson of Reardon, WA, Darcee Kissler of Winter Park, CO, and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Donald was born on April 19, 1932 in Granite Falls, MN. He graduated from Benson High School in 1950. Don met Lovetta (Faye) at Concordia College where he later earned a teaching degree. They married in July of 1954. That fall, Don was drafted for the Korean War. His tour of military duty started at Guided Missile school in Huntsville, AL, and concluded at the White Sands Proving Ground in Las Cruces, NM. Mr. Hammer started his teaching career in 1957 in Fosston, MN; after three years, the family moved to Bemidji where he was a 9th grade civics teacher until his retirement in 1991. Don was a true outdoorsman. He was blessed with a great group of friends who participated in the many adventures that included fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling, golfing, motorcycles, curling, camping and more. "Duke", as he was known to his compatriots, was the consummate social organizer, frying up turkeys for friends or hosting the annual teachers' wild game feed. Don and Faye traveled far and wide to dance to the sounds of Shades of Soul. Their graceful style was a sight to behold. During his lifetime, Donald was an active and dedicated member of First Lutheran Church, local Parkinson's group, Ducks Unlimited, the Elks, Eagles, and Bemidji Curling Club. A funeral celebration is scheduled for Friday, June 17th at 1pm at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji, Minnesota, with a reception to follow. Visitation will be from 12-1 pm prior to the celebration. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donald's life. Memorials may be made to the Bemidji Parkinson's Support Group so that others may fight the fight as he did. The family would like to thank the many caregivers who supported Don. 1808	Donald E. Ronning, 53, 202 W. Cedar, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Lake Region Hospital. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Augustana Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. One of four children, he was born June 26,1928, at Appleton to Melbert and Emelia Ronning. He grew up at Appleton and graduated from high school in 1946. Enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1947, he was stationed at Hawaii. He was discharged in 1950. On Aug. 25,1948, he married Dorothy Samuelson at Appleton. He worked with Great Northern Railroad, Willmar, prior to attending college in Boulder, Colo. He graduated in 1964 with a degree in civil engineering. Coming to Fergus Falls in 1966, he began employment as city engineer. Except for a three-year period, when he operated an engineering consulting business and was a city engineer in Kansas, he held that position until his death. He had been a member of the Elks, Kiwanis, and a number of engineering professional organizations. A member of Augustana Lutheran Church, he had served as a church council member and Sunday school teacher. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; eight children, Gloria, Timothy, Caren, Scott, Jeffrey, Carol, Kae and Donald, all of Fergus Falls; and two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Perry, Appleton, and Mrs. Vern (Lyla) Chamberlain, Spokane, Wash. Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. today, continuing tomorrow morning at Olson Funeral Home. Visitation resumes at the church one hour prior to services tomorrow afternoon. 1809	Donald Michael Johansen died August 27, 2011 at his home Don was born in Acequia, Idaho on December 13, 1937 to Edward John Johansen and Reta Evaline Hardy. His spouse is Mary Louise Turner Johansen Don grew up in Idaho where he attended several schools excelling in basketball and eventually earning his GED. He joined the service in 1955 where he served for four years in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was stationed in Africa and San Salvador and is a veteran of the Korean War. Don went to college on the GI bill after he was discharged from the service and eventually moved to Utah. He met Mary Louise Turner in 1968 and they were married in March of 1971. Don was a very hard worker and held many jobs during his life including farmer, heavy equipment operator, road and bridge construction, logger, manager of a potato processing plant, truck driver, prospector, salesman, mechanic, horse breeder, manager of 3 gas stations, owner of a lot maintenance business. Don loved the mountains. His hobbies included boating, camping, inventing things, playing with his horses and dogs, long drives, and walks with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Turner Johansen, of Lehi; his children: Deanne Phelps, of American Fork; Lisa (Michael) Lundquist, of Downingtown, PA, Dawn (Casey) Sabey, of Lehi, and Michael Johansen, of Lehi; grandchildren: Jeremy Phelps, Josh Sims, Jennica Sims and Jaden Sabey; sisters: Wandalee Anderson and Dorothy Hansen, both of Twin Falls, ID; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 1810	Donald R. Noiman, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at his Fergus Falls home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous fight with COPD. Don and his twin brother, Ron, were born in Fergus Falls on July 14, 1931, to Robert and Bernice (Junkin) Norman. He was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. He attended Fergus Falls High School and the Wahpeton State School of Science for Electrical Engineering. He left with the Fergus Falls National Guard for Camp Rucker, Ala., in 1951. Don attended the Infantry School at Fort Benning, Ga., served in Korea for eight months and was honorably discharged in May of 1952. Don married his high school sweetheart, Valera Todahl on June 29, 1952. They had three sons and a daughter who were his pride and joy. He worked at various jobs and in 1958, was employed at the Fergus Falls State Hospital as a Stationary Engineer. He then became chief engineer until his retirement in 1991. Don was a Cub Scout leader and a Webelo's leader for his sons, was an avid reader of books and the Bible. He loved to hunt, fish, travel, dance, enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and watching his grandkids play sports and other school activities. He was a jack of all trades and built his own home for his family in 1962. Don was a member of the Elks holding several offices and was the Elks Point Camp Director for more than 25 years, taking much pride in his campground and enjoying the many friendships he made along the way. He was named Elk of the Year in 1983, and again in 2001 when he retired from his job at Elks Point. Don was also a member of the VFW Post 612 and Grace Methodist Church where he served on several church committees. Family was most important to Don; he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was much loved by all. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his twin brother, Ronald. 1811	Donald Skogrand, of Montevideo, died on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 89. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Pastor Matt Philaya officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, August 21 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Donald Curtiss Skogrand was born July 24th, 1930 to Peter and Alma (Gulden) Skogrand. He grew up north of Montevideo and went to school in Milan. On March 31, 1949 he was united in marriage to Patricia Mary Kellner. He farmed until 1957 when they moved to Montevideo. He drove milk truck and worked construction until he joined the Chippewa County Sheriff Department. He very proudly served as sheriff for 12 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards. Donald is survived by one son, Steven Skogrand of Shakopee; sister: Dolores (Donald) Cornelius, Eden Prairie; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild as well as extended relatives and friends. 1815	Donna Ludtke, 80, Enderlin, passed away January 13, 2013 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo ND. Donna Ellen Ludtke was born October 23, 1932, to Arthur and Dorothy Roney at Nome, North Dakota. She grew up in Leonard and graduated there. Donna held various jobs in her life, but found her last career the most rewarding as a nursing assistant. She worked at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin and the Soldiers Home in Lisbon. It was from there she retired in 1993. Donna will be sadly missed by her husband of 44 years, Robert Ludtke. She is also survived by her three children, Lynn (Jan) Spiekermeier, CO; David (Pauline) Spiekermeier, IA; and Paula (Dan) Aspelund, MN. 1819	Doreen Dodie Schatz, 61, Butte, ND, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Souris Valley Care Center of Velva, ND following a brave fight against frontotemporal degeneration. Doreen Faye Johnson was born November 10, 1954, the daughter of Lloyd and Olive (Melom) Johnson, in Minot, ND. She was raised in Ruso, ND and educated in Butte. Dodie married Timothy Schatz on March 10, 1973 at Oak Valley Lutheran Church of Velva. They made their home in Butte, ND where they raised their three daughters. Dodie was the Business Manager for the Butte Public School System for 30 years. She was also a member of the City Council and was the City Auditor for 12 years. Dodie was later a cashier at the Farmers Union for 10 years. Dodie was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Butte, where she was very involved in a number of areas, including being the church secretary and the church treasurer for 6 years. Dodie was always willing to help those in need and became known as Mom to many people over the years. She was well known for her Cheerio bars, pancakes and taco salad. She had a one-of-a-kind beautiful smile and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 1820	Dorine L Lundbeck September 29, 1941 - November 4, 2020 Dorine L. Lundbeck was born on September 29th 1941 in Stanwood, Wash. to Ole Botten and Ruth Botten. She passed away early on November 4th, 2020 at the age of 79 in Tacoma, Wash. Dorine grew up in Camano Island with her brother Mike, and sisters Sylvia and Alice. Dorines early years were spent helping on the farm and spending summers on Drayton Harbor with the family. She attended Stanwood Elementary School and graduated with the class of 59' from Twin City High School in Stanwood, Wash. After high school, she promptly moved to the big city of Seattle to start her new single life. The first job she took in Seattle was working with a local insurance company. Soon though, she moved on to work for Norwegian America Line, a job that would shape her life. Working with the cruise line allowed her to travel to countries in Scandinavia and the Mediterranean. Traveling would be a love that would continue all her life, whether it was a local attraction, Iceland, or the Middle East. Dorine met and was later married to Floyd Lundbeck in 1969 and they moved to Tacoma, where they would be married for 33 years until Floyds death in 2001. Dorine and Floyd settled in University Place where they started their family, having two sons John (Dana) and Jeff (Becky). Later, she would be thrilled to have two grandchildren, Erik from John & Dana and Brenna, her first little girl from Jeff & Becky. After raising her sons and losing her husband, she moved from the family home to a nice, comfortable condo in North Tacoma. Dorine was always blessed to be surrounded by great, lifelong friends. She was active with the 59ers and with her close group of friends from Stanwood. She also was a long time President of a local Tops group, and really enjoyed outings with her friends in the Red Hat Society. She also trained with friends to be a master bargain hunter, searching garage sales and thrift stores for hidden treasures. There wasnt a bargain she wouldnt find. Dorine always embraced her love of travel, both internationally and local. She so enjoyed her bus adventures with both Discovery Tours and Freedom Tours. She had a chance to travel all over the country from the New England states, South Carolina, Missouri, Alaska, South Dakota, Arizona, The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park (in winter), and so many Northwest Destinations. Dorine led a life all her own, surrounding herself with her family and friends she held the closest. She will obviously miss all her nieces and nephews, their children and the whole extended family who she always kept track of. In her own words My best life is family, friends, and travel. Travel on Mom! Due to the current state laws at this time, services are being restricted to a limited number of friends and family. There will be a memorial held for her at Tuell-McKee Funeral Home on November 20th 2020 anytime between 3:00pm to 5:00pm. She will then be laid to rest with her family at Tacoma Cemetery. 1821	Doris Mjoness, age 90, of Canby, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Sanford Canby Medical Center. Funeral Service are pending at this time. Doris Lavonne (Hedberg) Mjoness was born September 9, 1928 on the family farm in Riverside Township, Lac Que Parle County, Minnesota near Dawson to parents Axel and Rose (Connor) Hedberg. She attended country school along with her siblings and was raised on the farm. On December 13, 1969 Doris was united in marriage to Noel Jerome Mjoness in Watertown, South Dakota. The couple lived in St. Paul, MN as Noel worked as a factory representative for Bowman and Doris worked for 3-M for many years and she retired in 1979. Later they moved to a home in Oshkosh Township, near Canby. Noel died on May 10, 2002. Doris enjoyed crocheting, sewing and knitting. She had a special love for puppies and raising dogs. She was member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where Doris and Noel volunteered to helping disabled veterans for countless years. She was a member of Providence Valley Lutheran Church. Doris is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Gary) Kluender of Eagan, MN; stepchildren: Pam, Lori, Scott, Geri, Kari, Corey, Shelley and Jodi and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother David (Ardyth) Hedberg of St. Paul, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. 1824	Dorothy Ann Meyer passed away peacefully at home at the age of 87 on Sept. 18, 2018. She was born March 28, 1931, in Astoria. She married Dagfinn S. Meyer in Horten, Norway, in 1975. That same year they moved back to Astoria. They owned the John Day gas station from 1975 until 1986. She had three children, seven stepchildren, and multiple grandchildren. She loved gardening and baking. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 1826	Dorothy Erlene johnson, 93, of Two Harbors, died peacefully, Thursday, March 7, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospice. She was born in Two Harbors on April 5, 1919 to Esther ad Nels Sandness. Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Two Harbors High School and had worked as a bookkeeper at the Two Harbors Coop Store, and the lake County Tresurers office. She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Dorothy Married Emmert Johnson on July 6, 1946, the love of her life. During their 67 years, they enjoyed life together raising a family on the Silver Creek homestead and spending and spending time at McDougal Lake with family. Dorothy loved to be with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful baker of oatmeal cookies, chocolate drop cookies, and salted peanut cookies just to name a few. In her later years she loved working on Sudoku puzzles, word jumbles and cryptoquips from the newspaper. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Esther; brothers Allen, Norman, and Jorund; son-in-law, Gary Staples; brother-in-law, Earl Hedin; and sisters-in-law Sparling and Norma Sandness. 1828	Dorothy Marie Perry was born in Starbuck, Minnesota, on November 27, 1941, to Henry and Doris (Sather) Erdahl. She passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020, at East Hospital M Fairview Health. Dorothy was raised on a farm near Donnelly, Minnesota, and graduated from Morris High School in 1959. An inherent caregiver, nursing was Dorothy's chosen career path. She received her Registered Nurse Diploma in 1962. Her first job was as a labor and delivery nurse at Fairview Hospital. After 5 years, she moved on to be an occupational health nurse for the Dayton Corporation, Minneapolis. Later with the four children in elementary school, Dorothy returned to school. She received a Bachelor of Science with Public Health Certification in 1983 from the College of St. Benedict. The next 23 years were spent working first as a public health nurse for Morrison County and then as a Health Facility Evaluator for the State of Minnesota. 1829	Dorothy May Price Dorothy May Price, 79, of Duluth, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, in St Luke's Hospice. Dorothy was born in Duluth on May 16, 1925 to Waldemar and Mabel (Herod) Jackson. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Mary Circle. Dorothy graduated from Denfeld High School in 1943 and St Luke's School of Nursing in 1946. She was an RN at St Luke's for 20 years. Dorothy was very devoted to her family and husband of 55 years. Dorothy married Glen in Duluth on Sept. 10, 1949. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mary Ann Hoglund. Surviving is her loving husband, Glen; her son, Gregory; and her daughter, LuAnne (Barry) Sinex of Duluth; three granddaughters, Dawn, Heather and Holly; a niece, Beth Hanson and a nephew, Brian Leonard; grandnieces and grandnephews. 1830	Dorothy Storseth Dorothy was born on a small farm in Poulsbo, Washington, on October 25, l9l9. Her parents, Peder and Karen Strand, were immigrants from Norway, so all her life Dorothy valued the Norwegian traditions and language. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1938, and immediately attended Business College in Seattle. In 1939, she married Emil Storseth, and began work at the Seattle office of an insurance company. She became a full time homemaker after her children were born. Her skills in household management were especially important because Emil, a fisherman, was often away at sea. Both she and Emil joined Bethel Lutheran Church of Shoreline in 1953, and Dorothy remained a devoted member throughout her life. She taught Sunday School while her children were growing, and was also active in the Bethel Women's Guild and Circle. Additionally, she worked on the Altar Committee and was Wedding Coordinator for many years. The congregation of Bethel will remember her as an excellent friend and devout Christian. Dorothy became a widow in 1984. During the latter years of her life, she continued to give much of her time to helping family and friends. She was a warm, affectionate mother, with a wry sense of humor. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Bob, Karen, and Terri, their families, and her many friends. 1831	Douglas Martin Jacobsen Thursday, July 24, 2008 The Oregonian Douglas Martin Jacobsen of Fairview died July 20, 2008, of cancer at age 67. Douglas Martin Jacobsen was born May 15, 1941, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He served in the Navy and moved in the early 1960s to Fairview. He was a welder for Master Fence Fitting for 30 years. In 1969, he married Linda Towne. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Penny Jacobsen and Virginia Hesse; sons, Ralph and Willie; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 1832	Douro departed Reykjavik for Hull with 375 tons fish on ice on May 7-1942 (this date fits with the departure date for Convoy RU 22 - however, she's not included in that convoy, so may have sailed independently). On May 9 she was attacked by aircraft and was hit by 4 bombs amidships on the port side, behind the funnel, position 60 41N 12 58W. She sank in 2 minutes having broken off amidships. As the lifeboats were destroyed the survivors had to jump overboard. 10 eventually managed to get on two rafts, 8 on one and 2 on the other (the 2nd engineer and Able Seaman/Gunner Karlsen), and that afternoon they were spotted by a British aircraft which signalled to them that help would be summoned. A few hours thereafter the aircraft returned signalling that help was on its way and that evening the Icelandic trawler Gyllir (Captain Karl Jonsson) came to their assistance. They were taken to Reykjavik where 2 injured men received medical treatment. 7 had been killed on board, 3 drowned, including the captain. The 1st mate, who had spent about an hour(?) in the water before getting on a raft, stated at the maritime hearings that while still in the water he had approached a lifeboat with 2 men, namely Stoker Mauritz Johansen and Boatswain Theodor Kristiansen. He had strongly encouraged them to swim towards a raft which was drifting slowly about 100 meters away, because he considered the lifeboat in such a state that it was unsafe, but the 2 stayed where they were and were not seen again. 1833	Dr. Dale C. Kana, 79, died on February 14, 2013, at Sanford Hospital, Palliative Care, Fargo. Dale was born April 25, 1933, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Lawrence and Frances (Dokken) Kana. He grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. He received his B.A at the University of North Dakota in 1956 and in 1957 got his B.S. He then attended the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, Kansas, where he received his Medical Degree in 1959. In 1964, Dr. Kana bought his own practice in Fargo and practiced on his own for several years until he and a group of family practice doctors joined forces in 1970 and moved into the Professional Building, which Dale and seven other doctors contracted to have built. In 1981, the Family Practice group joined the Fargo Clinic which later became MeritCare, which then became Sanford. Dale was a family practice mentor for several years for junior UND medical students which he enjoyed very much. He was the team doctor for Coach Mary Skaar's basketball teams at NDSU and Moorhead State and physician for the Burlington Northern Railroad. In 1986, for a period of five years, Dr. Kana practiced in Detroit Lakes where he helped establish the MeritCare Clinic and aided in the planning of the new clinic building. He then returned to his office at Southwest Clinic in Fargo where he remained until his retirement in 1999. Dale loved to golf, hunt, fish, play bridge and poker with his friends. He curled in Grafton, Detroit Lakes and Fargo. He was a member of the Fargo Country Club and Elks Club for many years. His favorite place to fish was on Pelican Lake near his cottage at a spot that was named Kana's Island because of all the walleyes he caught there. Dale married LoAnn Burman from Grand Forks in 1955. She survives with their three daughters, Deborah Morin and Lori Kana, both of Fargo; Barbara (Todd) Heiser of DeWitt, MI; three grandchildren, Dale Peter Morin, Fargo; Madeline and Max Heiser, DeWitt, Michigan. 1834	Dr. Glenn M. Haugan, 88, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away peacefully at Huron Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 19, 2015. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Reverend Marion Paulis officiating. Music will be provided by AnnRae Herr. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Glenn Maurice Haugan, the only son of Gerhardt and Florence (Patterson) Haugan was born February 6, 1927 in Watertown, South Dakota. After graduating from Watertown High School, Glenn enlisted and served in the United States Army Air Corps as an MP. He was honorably discharged in January of 1946. After earning a degree in Dental Science from the University of Minnesota he returned to Watertown. He married his beloved wife, Deloris Arlene Hanson in 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. Together they raised their daughter, Barbara in Watertown. Later Glenn opened his dental practice at Northside Clinic. Following his retirement in 1990, he remained busy with photography, creating fishing lures, studying Spanish, reloading shells and fishing with his grandchildren. An avid outdoorsman, Glenn was a hunter and fisherman who could often be found at the Watertown Hunting Club or on the water at Lake Kampeska, where he and Dee built their home. Glenn and Dee later moved to Huron to be closer to their daughter. Glenn is survived by his wife, Deloris of Huron; his daughter, Barbara (Dennis) Milbrandt of Huron; his grandson, Jason Milbrandt of Huron, his granddaughter, Shawna (David) Orwoll of Brooklyn Park, MN; and his great granddaughters, Kaylee and Karlee of Huron, and Rebecca of Highmore, SD. Dolores Ethel (Depute) Drangsholt, 80, Antler, ND, died Friday, January 26, 2007 following a courageously fought battle against cancer.

Dolores was born on August 27, 1926, in Berthold, ND, to William and Eva (Hennessy) Depute. She was raised and educated near Berthold, graduating from Berthold High School in 1945. After High School, Dolores attended Minot State Teachers College.

Dolores started her teaching career at South Prairie, rural Minot. She later started teaching at Sherman School, rural Antler, where she met Thomas Drangsholt. Thomas and Dolores were married on June 27, 1951. Together they made their home on a farm Southwest of Antler, ND. Dolores continued her teaching career at Antler Public School. After Thomas died in 1984, she continued to live on the farm, enjoying her rural lifestyle until July of 2005, when she moved to Minot.

Dolores was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antler and later joined the St. James Catholic Church in Sherwood, ND. Dolores served on the Wheaton Township board, Bottineau County FHA, Bottineau County Homemakers, Borderline Homemakers Member, 4-H leader for many years, a member of the Westhope Arts Guild, and worked as a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Center in Mohall.

Dolores was a very talented person, who enjoyed many passions. Such as quilting, oil painting, flower and vegetable gardening, and loved to share her talents with friends and family. Her independence and loving spirit has touched many lives.

Survivors include two daughters, Lila (Reid) Kukowski, Colstrip, MT and Linda (Gerald) Miller, Devils Lake, ND; granddaughters, Autum and Amy Kukowski, Colstrip, MT, grandsons, David and Cody Miller, Devils Lake, ND: sisters, Marcella Depute, Minot, Gertrude Simms, Spokane, WA, Donna Depute, Minot, Jane Depute, Jerusalem, Israel; brothers: Lawrence Depute, Berthold, Jerome Depute, Malta, MT, Daniel (Linda) Depute, Berthold, Francis (Julie) Depute, St. Paul, MN; sisters-in-law: Ann Drangsholt, Mohall, ND, Esther (Roy) Peterson, Antler, Margaret Hovde, Watford City, ND; brother-in-law, Chris Drangsholt, Mohall. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, parents and three brothers.

Don was born on the family farm in Skandia Township, Murray County to Edwin and Anna Koch Anderson. He grew up in Murray County and attended country school. On September 29, 1951, Don enlisted in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge on September 4, 1953, he returned to the family farm and began farming. On September 11, 1955, he and Janet Smith were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Balaton, MN. Following their marriage they remained on the farm in Lowville Township, Murray County. In 1963, they moved to Slayton and Don worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Don also owned and ran Dons Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Repair. In 1967, they purchased the family farm and remained there until 2007 when they moved to Slayton. In January 2019, Don became a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, MN. Don passed away there at the age of 90. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton where he served on various committees, was an usher and served on the Church Board. Don was also a member of the Lake Wilson American Legion post, Ducks Unlimited and served on the Balaton Farmers Coop Board for 10 years. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, playing cards and collecting coins and toy tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Anderson, three children and their spouses, Michelle and Kerry Malmquist, Donald Jr. and Karlene Anderson, and Randall and Keri Anderson, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Anderson, and Luverne Anderson, and one sisterin-law, Martha Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Myron Anderson, one sister, Lorraine and her husband, Jerry Blamey and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Anderson and Sharon Anderson.

Memorial services held from Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on December 6, 2019 with Rev. Dale Degner officiating. The honorary pallbearers are Tyler Anderon, Bjorn Pearson, Joe Miller, Scott Schwartz, Mark Bonnstetter, Jason Miller and Richard Miller. A private interment is planned. Military honors accorded by the Lake Wilson American Legion Post.

Donald A. Hammer, 84, died peacefully at his home on May 12, 2016 in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Don is survived by his wife and caregiver of 62 years, Faye, three daughters: Colette (Bob) Erickson of Hayden Lake, ID, Larae (Roger) Peterson of Reardon, WA, Darcee Kissler of Winter Park, CO, and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Donald was born on April 19, 1932 in Granite Falls, MN. He graduated from Benson High School in 1950. Don met Lovetta (Faye) at Concordia College where he later earned a teaching degree. They married in July of 1954. That fall, Don was drafted for the Korean War. His tour of military duty started at Guided Missile school in Huntsville, AL, and concluded at the White Sands Proving Ground in Las Cruces, NM.

Mr. Hammer started his teaching career in 1957 in Fosston, MN; after three years, the family moved to Bemidji where he was a 9th grade civics teacher until his retirement in 1991.

Don was a true outdoorsman. He was blessed with a great group of friends who participated in the many adventures that included fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling, golfing, motorcycles, curling, camping and more. "Duke", as he was known to his compatriots, was the consummate social organizer, frying up turkeys for friends or hosting the annual teachers' wild game feed.

Don and Faye traveled far and wide to dance to the sounds of Shades of Soul. Their graceful style was a sight to behold.

During his lifetime, Donald was an active and dedicated member of First Lutheran Church, local Parkinson's group, Ducks Unlimited, the Elks, Eagles, and Bemidji Curling Club.

A funeral celebration is scheduled for Friday, June 17th at 1pm at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji, Minnesota, with a reception to follow. Visitation will be from 12-1 pm prior to the celebration. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donald's life. Memorials may be made to the Bemidji Parkinson's Support Group so that others may fight the fight as he did. The family would like to thank the many caregivers who supported Don.

Donald E. Ronning, 53, 202 W. Cedar, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Lake Region Hospital. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Augustana Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
One of four children, he was born June 26,1928, at Appleton to Melbert and Emelia Ronning. He grew up at Appleton and graduated from high school in 1946. Enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1947, he was stationed at Hawaii. He was discharged in 1950.
On Aug. 25,1948, he married Dorothy Samuelson at Appleton. He worked with Great Northern Railroad, Willmar, prior to attending college in Boulder, Colo. He graduated in 1964 with a degree in civil engineering. Coming to Fergus Falls in 1966, he began employment as city engineer. Except for a three-year period, when he operated an engineering consulting business and was a city engineer in Kansas, he held that position until his death.
He had been a member of the Elks, Kiwanis, and a number of engineering professional organizations. A member of Augustana Lutheran Church, he had served as a church council member and Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; eight children, Gloria, Timothy, Caren, Scott, Jeffrey, Carol, Kae and Donald, all of Fergus Falls; and two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Perry, Appleton, and Mrs. Vern (Lyla) Chamberlain, Spokane, Wash.
Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. today, continuing tomorrow morning at Olson Funeral Home.
Visitation resumes at the church one hour prior to services tomorrow afternoon.

Don was born in Acequia, Idaho on December 13, 1937 to Edward John Johansen and Reta Evaline Hardy. His spouse is Mary Louise Turner Johansen

Don grew up in Idaho where he attended several schools excelling in basketball and eventually earning his GED.

He joined the service in 1955 where he served for four years in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was stationed in Africa and San Salvador and is a veteran of the Korean War. Don went to college on the GI bill after he was discharged from the service and eventually moved to Utah.

He met Mary Louise Turner in 1968 and they were married in March of 1971.

Don was a very hard worker and held many jobs during his life including farmer, heavy equipment operator, road and bridge construction, logger, manager of a potato processing plant, truck driver, prospector, salesman, mechanic, horse breeder, manager of 3 gas stations, owner of a lot maintenance business.

Don loved the mountains. His hobbies included boating, camping, inventing things, playing with his horses and dogs, long drives, and walks with his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Turner Johansen, of Lehi; his children: Deanne Phelps, of American Fork; Lisa (Michael) Lundquist, of Downingtown, PA, Dawn (Casey) Sabey, of Lehi, and Michael Johansen, of Lehi; grandchildren: Jeremy Phelps, Josh Sims, Jennica Sims and Jaden Sabey; sisters: Wandalee Anderson and Dorothy Hansen, both of Twin Falls, ID; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his brothers: Junior, Darold; and Blaine Johansen; and parents: Ed and Reta Johansen.

A memorial service will be held in a few weeks. The date and time to be announced.

Donald R. Noiman, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at his Fergus Falls home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous fight with COPD.

Don and his twin brother, Ron, were born in Fergus Falls on July 14, 1931, to Robert and Bernice (Junkin) Norman. He was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. He attended Fergus Falls High School and the Wahpeton State School of Science for Electrical Engineering.
He left with the Fergus Falls National Guard for Camp Rucker, Ala., in 1951. Don attended the Infantry School at Fort Benning, Ga., served in Korea for eight months and was honorably discharged in May of 1952.

Don married his high school sweetheart, Valera Todahl on June 29, 1952. They had three sons and a daughter who were his pride and joy.

He worked at various jobs and in 1958, was employed at the Fergus Falls State Hospital as a Stationary Engineer. He then became chief engineer until his retirement in 1991.

Don was a Cub Scout leader and a Webelo's leader for his sons, was an avid reader of books and the Bible. He loved to hunt, fish, travel, dance, enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and watching his grandkids play sports and other school activities.

He was a jack of all trades and built his own home for his family in 1962. Don was a member of the Elks holding several offices and was the Elks Point Camp Director for more than 25 years, taking much pride in his campground and enjoying the many friendships he made along the way. He was named Elk of the Year in 1983, and again in 2001 when he retired from his job at Elks Point.

Don was also a member of the VFW Post 612 and Grace Methodist Church where he served on several church committees.

Family was most important to Don; he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was much loved by all.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his twin brother, Ronald.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Valera; his sons, Craig (Renee) Norman, Scott (Linda) Norman, and Zachary Norman, all of Fergus Falls and a daughter, Beth (Greg) Zeipelt of Lake Elmo; grandchildren, Maggie (Ryan) Honer, Monte (special friend, Katie Cronk), Joe and Sam Norman, Hunter Norman and Lydia Zeipelt; one greatgrandchild, Jake Honer; a sister, Marion Johnson of Fergus Falls; a brother, Richard (Delilah) Norman of Elizabeth; sisters-in-law, Dilly Todahl of Lapeer, Mich,, and Kelly Norman of Battle Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Donald Curtiss Skogrand was born July 24th, 1930 to Peter and Alma (Gulden) Skogrand. He grew up north of Montevideo and went to school in Milan. On March 31, 1949 he was united in marriage to Patricia Mary Kellner. He farmed until 1957 when they moved to Montevideo. He drove milk truck and worked construction until he joined the Chippewa County Sheriff Department. He very proudly served as sheriff for 12 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards.
Donald is survived by one son, Steven Skogrand of Shakopee; sister: Dolores (Donald) Cornelius, Eden Prairie; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild as well as extended relatives and friends.

Donna Ellen Ludtke was born October 23, 1932, to Arthur and Dorothy Roney at Nome, North Dakota. She grew up in Leonard and graduated there. Donna held various jobs in her life, but found her last career the most rewarding as a nursing assistant. She worked at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin and the Soldiers Home in Lisbon. It was from there she retired in 1993.

Donna will be sadly missed by her husband of 44 years, Robert Ludtke. She is also survived by her three children, Lynn (Jan) Spiekermeier, CO; David (Pauline) Spiekermeier, IA; and Paula (Dan) Aspelund, MN. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Doreen Dodie Schatz, 61, Butte, ND, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Souris Valley Care Center of Velva, ND following a brave fight against frontotemporal degeneration.

Doreen Faye Johnson was born November 10, 1954, the daughter of Lloyd and Olive (Melom) Johnson, in Minot, ND. She was raised in Ruso, ND and educated in Butte.

Dodie married Timothy Schatz on March 10, 1973 at Oak Valley Lutheran Church of Velva. They made their home in Butte, ND where they raised their three daughters.

Dodie was the Business Manager for the Butte Public School System for 30 years. She was also a member of the City Council and was the City Auditor for 12 years. Dodie was later a cashier at the Farmers Union for 10 years.

Dodie was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Butte, where she was very involved in a number of areas, including being the church secretary and the church treasurer for 6 years.

Dodie was always willing to help those in need and became known as Mom to many people over the years. She was well known for her Cheerio bars, pancakes and taco salad. She had a one-of-a-kind beautiful smile and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Dorine L. Lundbeck was born on September 29th 1941 in Stanwood, Wash. to Ole Botten and Ruth Botten. She passed away early on November 4th, 2020 at the age of 79 in Tacoma, Wash.

Dorine grew up in Camano Island with her brother Mike, and sisters Sylvia and Alice. Dorines early years were spent helping on the farm and spending summers on Drayton Harbor with the family. She attended Stanwood Elementary School and graduated with the class of 59' from Twin City High School in Stanwood, Wash. After high school, she promptly moved to the big city of Seattle to start her new single life. The first job she took in Seattle was working with a local insurance company. Soon though, she moved on to work for Norwegian America Line, a job that would shape her life. Working with the cruise line allowed her to travel to countries in Scandinavia and the Mediterranean. Traveling would be a love that would continue all her life, whether it was a local attraction, Iceland, or the Middle East. Dorine met and was later married to Floyd Lundbeck in 1969 and they moved to Tacoma, where they would be married for 33 years until Floyds death in 2001. Dorine and Floyd settled in University Place where they started their family, having two sons John (Dana) and Jeff (Becky). Later, she would be thrilled to have two grandchildren, Erik from John & Dana and Brenna, her first little girl from Jeff & Becky.
After raising her sons and losing her husband, she moved from the family home to a nice, comfortable condo in North Tacoma. Dorine was always blessed to be surrounded by great, lifelong friends. She was active with the 59ers and with her close group of friends from Stanwood. She also was a long time President of a local Tops group, and really enjoyed outings with her friends in the Red Hat Society. She also trained with friends to be a master bargain hunter, searching garage sales and thrift stores for hidden treasures. There wasnt a bargain she wouldnt find.

Dorine always embraced her love of travel, both internationally and local. She so enjoyed her bus adventures with both Discovery Tours and Freedom Tours. She had a chance to travel all over the country from the New England states, South Carolina, Missouri, Alaska, South Dakota, Arizona, The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park (in winter), and so many Northwest Destinations.

Dorine led a life all her own, surrounding herself with her family and friends she held the closest. She will obviously miss all her nieces and nephews, their children and the whole extended family who she always kept track of. In her own words My best life is family, friends, and travel. Travel on Mom!

Due to the current state laws at this time, services are being restricted to a limited number of friends and family. There will be a memorial held for her at Tuell-McKee Funeral Home on November 20th 2020 anytime between 3:00pm to 5:00pm. She will then be laid to rest with her family at Tacoma Cemetery.

Doris Lavonne (Hedberg) Mjoness was born September 9, 1928 on the family farm in Riverside Township, Lac Que Parle County, Minnesota near Dawson to parents Axel and Rose (Connor) Hedberg. She attended country school along with her siblings and was raised on the farm.

On December 13, 1969 Doris was united in marriage to Noel Jerome Mjoness in Watertown, South Dakota. The couple lived in St. Paul, MN as Noel worked as a factory representative for Bowman and Doris worked for 3-M for many years and she retired in 1979. Later they moved to a home in Oshkosh Township, near Canby. Noel died on May 10, 2002.

Doris enjoyed crocheting, sewing and knitting. She had a special love for puppies and raising dogs. She was member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where Doris and Noel volunteered to helping disabled veterans for countless years. She was a member of Providence Valley Lutheran Church.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Gary) Kluender of Eagan, MN; stepchildren: Pam, Lori, Scott, Geri, Kari, Corey, Shelley and Jodi and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother David (Ardyth) Hedberg of St. Paul, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.

She married Dagfinn S. Meyer in Horten, Norway, in 1975. That same year they moved back to Astoria. They owned the John Day gas station from 1975 until 1986.
She had three children, seven stepchildren, and multiple grandchildren.
She loved gardening and baking.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy Erlene johnson, 93, of Two Harbors, died peacefully, Thursday, March 7, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospice.

She was born in Two Harbors on April 5, 1919 to Esther ad Nels Sandness.

Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Two Harbors High School and had worked as a bookkeeper at the Two Harbors Coop Store, and the lake County Tresurers office. She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Dorothy Married Emmert Johnson on July 6, 1946, the love of her life. During their 67 years, they enjoyed life together raising a family on the Silver Creek homestead and spending and spending time at McDougal Lake with family.

Dorothy loved to be with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful baker of oatmeal cookies, chocolate drop cookies, and salted peanut cookies just to name a few. In her later years she loved working on Sudoku puzzles, word jumbles and cryptoquips from the newspaper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Esther; brothers Allen, Norman, and Jorund; son-in-law, Gary Staples; brother-in-law, Earl Hedin; and sisters-in-law Sparling and Norma Sandness.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Emmert; children Wayne (Karen) of Spokane Wash., Carol Staples of Cherry, Minn., and David (Sharon) of Duluth; three grandchildren, Scott (Stcia) Staples, Katie (Jasen) Hoglund, Kori (Andy) Shepard; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew Staples, Jack, Zachary and Aubrey Hoglund, Ella Shepard; sister-in-law Bernice Sandness and several nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Dorothy Mae Brown, 80, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Private memorial services are planned for a later date.

Dorothy was born the daughter of Ralph and Agnes (Gustaf) Anderson in Slayton, MN. In 1955 She moved to Sioux Falls and would later marry George Brown on November 14, 1959. They made their home in Sioux Falls where they welcomed children, Kimberley and Timothy.

She is survived by her children, Kimberley (Harley) Rederth and Timothy Brown; grandchildren, Kara Velasquez, Kirsten Rederth, and Derek Rederth; great-grandchildren, Ciara and Andrew Velasquez, all of Sioux Falls; siblings, Jean (Todd) Glumac of Arizona, Marilyn Stuckey and Jim Anderson, both of Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; and her brother, Ralph "Boover" Anderson.

Dorothy Marie Perry was born in Starbuck, Minnesota, on November 27, 1941, to Henry and Doris (Sather) Erdahl. She passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020, at East Hospital M Fairview Health. Dorothy was raised on a farm near Donnelly, Minnesota, and graduated from Morris High School in 1959. An inherent caregiver, nursing was Dorothy's chosen career path. She received her Registered Nurse Diploma in 1962. Her first job was as a labor and delivery nurse at Fairview Hospital. After 5 years, she moved on to be an occupational health nurse for the Dayton Corporation, Minneapolis. Later with the four children in elementary school, Dorothy returned to school. She received a Bachelor of Science with Public Health Certification in 1983 from the College of St. Benedict. The next 23 years were spent working first as a public health nurse for Morrison County and then as a Health Facility Evaluator for the State of Minnesota.
She was predeceased by her parents, nephews Charles Eidem and Mark Hanson, sister-in-law Gail Pautzke, and brothers-in-law Cliff Hanson and Orv Sigurdson.

Dorothy May Price, 79, of Duluth, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, in St Luke's Hospice. Dorothy was born in Duluth on May 16, 1925 to Waldemar and Mabel (Herod) Jackson. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Mary Circle. Dorothy graduated from Denfeld High School in 1943 and St Luke's School of Nursing in 1946. She was an RN at St Luke's for 20 years. Dorothy was very devoted to her family and husband of 55 years. Dorothy married Glen in Duluth on Sept. 10, 1949. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mary Ann Hoglund. Surviving is her loving husband, Glen; her son, Gregory; and her daughter, LuAnne (Barry) Sinex of Duluth; three granddaughters, Dawn, Heather and Holly; a niece, Beth Hanson and a nephew, Brian Leonard; grandnieces and grandnephews. VISITATION:5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Bell Brothers Funeral Home and from 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. service Friday in Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery. Dorothy was born on a small farm in Poulsbo, Washington, on October 25, l9l9.

Her parents, Peder and Karen Strand, were immigrants from Norway, so all her life Dorothy valued the Norwegian traditions and language. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1938, and immediately attended Business College in Seattle. In 1939, she married Emil Storseth, and began work at the Seattle office of an insurance company. She became a full time homemaker after her children were born. Her skills in household management were especially important because Emil, a fisherman, was often away at sea.

Both she and Emil joined Bethel Lutheran Church of Shoreline in 1953, and Dorothy remained a devoted member throughout her life. She taught Sunday School while her children were growing, and was also active in the Bethel Women's Guild and Circle. Additionally, she worked on the Altar Committee and was Wedding Coordinator for many years. The congregation of Bethel will remember her as an excellent friend and devout Christian.

Dorothy became a widow in 1984. During the latter years of her life, she continued to give much of her time to helping family and friends. She was a warm, affectionate mother, with a wry sense of humor. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Bob, Karen, and Terri, their families, and her many friends.

The family suggests that remem-brances be made in Dorothy's name to the charity of your choice .

Douglas Martin Jacobsen of Fairview died July 20, 2008, of cancer at age 67.

Douglas Martin Jacobsen was born May 15, 1941, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He served in the Navy and moved in the early 1960s to Fairview. He was a welder for Master Fence Fitting for 30 years. In 1969, he married Linda Towne.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Penny Jacobsen and Virginia Hesse; sons, Ralph and Willie; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His son Rusty died in 2007.

Douro departed Reykjavik for Hull with 375 tons fish on ice on May 7-1942 (this date fits with the departure date for Convoy RU 22 - however, she's not included in that convoy, so may have sailed independently). On May 9 she was attacked by aircraft and was hit by 4 bombs amidships on the port side, behind the funnel, position 60 41N 12 58W. She sank in 2 minutes having broken off amidships.
As the lifeboats were destroyed the survivors had to jump overboard. 10 eventually managed to get on two rafts, 8 on one and 2 on the other (the 2nd engineer and Able Seaman/Gunner Karlsen), and that afternoon they were spotted by a British aircraft which signalled to them that help would be summoned. A few hours thereafter the aircraft returned signalling that help was on its way and that evening the Icelandic trawler Gyllir (Captain Karl Jonsson) came to their assistance. They were taken to Reykjavik where 2 injured men received medical treatment.

7 had been killed on board, 3 drowned, including the captain. The 1st mate, who had spent about an hour(?) in the water before getting on a raft, stated at the maritime hearings that while still in the water he had approached a lifeboat with 2 men, namely Stoker Mauritz Johansen and Boatswain Theodor Kristiansen. He had strongly encouraged them to swim towards a raft which was drifting slowly about 100 meters away, because he considered the lifeboat in such a state that it was unsafe, but the 2 stayed where they were and were not seen again. The captain had been seen in the water by Gunner Kristiansen who at that time was holding on to the remnants of the motorboat, so he could not go to his aid.

Dr. Dale C. Kana, 79, died on February 14, 2013, at Sanford Hospital, Palliative Care, Fargo.
Dale was born April 25, 1933, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Lawrence and Frances (Dokken) Kana. He grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. He received his B.A at the University of North Dakota in 1956 and in 1957 got his B.S. He then attended the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, Kansas, where he received his Medical Degree in 1959.

In 1964, Dr. Kana bought his own practice in Fargo and practiced on his own for several years until he and a group of family practice doctors joined forces in 1970 and moved into the Professional Building, which Dale and seven other doctors contracted to have built.

In 1981, the Family Practice group joined the Fargo Clinic which later became MeritCare, which then became Sanford. Dale was a family practice mentor for several years for junior UND medical students which he enjoyed very much. He was the team doctor for Coach Mary Skaar's basketball teams at NDSU and Moorhead State and physician for the Burlington Northern Railroad.

In 1986, for a period of five years, Dr. Kana practiced in Detroit Lakes where he helped establish the MeritCare Clinic and aided in the planning of the new clinic building. He then returned to his office at Southwest Clinic in Fargo where he remained until his retirement in 1999.

Dale loved to golf, hunt, fish, play bridge and poker with his friends. He curled in Grafton, Detroit Lakes and Fargo. He was a member of the Fargo Country Club and Elks Club for many years. His favorite place to fish was on Pelican Lake near his cottage at a spot that was named Kana's Island because of all the walleyes he caught there.

Dale married LoAnn Burman from Grand Forks in 1955. She survives with their three daughters, Deborah Morin and Lori Kana, both of Fargo; Barbara (Todd) Heiser of DeWitt, MI; three grandchildren, Dale Peter Morin, Fargo; Madeline and Max Heiser, DeWitt, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Darrell and Larry.

Dr. Glenn M. Haugan, 88, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away peacefully at Huron Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 19, 2015. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Reverend Marion Paulis officiating. Music will be provided by AnnRae Herr.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD.

Glenn Maurice Haugan, the only son of Gerhardt and Florence (Patterson) Haugan was born February 6, 1927 in Watertown, South Dakota. After graduating from Watertown High School, Glenn enlisted and served in the United States Army Air Corps as an MP. He was honorably discharged in January of 1946.

After earning a degree in Dental Science from the University of Minnesota he returned to Watertown. He married his beloved wife, Deloris Arlene Hanson in 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. Together they raised their daughter, Barbara in Watertown. Later Glenn opened his dental practice at Northside Clinic. Following his retirement in 1990, he remained busy with photography, creating fishing lures, studying Spanish, reloading shells and fishing with his grandchildren.

An avid outdoorsman, Glenn was a hunter and fisherman who could often be found at the Watertown Hunting Club or on the water at Lake Kampeska, where he and Dee built their home. Glenn and Dee later moved to Huron to be closer to their daughter.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Deloris of Huron; his daughter, Barbara (Dennis) Milbrandt of Huron; his grandson, Jason Milbrandt of Huron, his granddaughter, Shawna (David) Orwoll of Brooklyn Park, MN; and his great granddaughters, Kaylee and Karlee of Huron, and Rebecca of Highmore, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his cherished dog friends, Duke, Spike, Hurrah and Jessie.

1538-1615, Læge, var vistnok født i Gent i Flandern. Faderen var en anset Læge, der paa Grund af Religionsforfølgelserne maatte flygte til Lybeck, hvor han døde. Moderen drog derpaa med Sønnen til Danmark, hvor hendes Datter Barbara var gift meed Hofpræst Christoffer Knoff (IX, 252). Efter at have fuldendt sine Studier udenlands blev P. Livlæge hos Enkedronning Dorothea paa Koldinghus og Sønderborg. Efter hendes Død blev han 1571 Provinsiallæge for Nørrejylland med Bolig i Viborg; 1577 fik han desuden Apotheterprivilegium.
I Viborg, hvor han tillige var Medlem af Kapitlet (Ærkedegn), tilbragte han nu en meget lang Aarrække indtil sin Død, 19. Nov. 1615. Gift i. med Hedevig ell. Helvig v. Gift 29.1.1966 med produksjonsleder Sidsel Stinessen (8.5.1943), datter av major Carl Edward Stinessen (191387) og disponent Uni Steenfeldt-Foss (1913), ekteskapet oppløst 1980.

Sverre Udnæs var en i norsk sammenheng enestående teaterbegavelse, som dramaforfatter og iscenesetter, innenfor fjernsynsteater, film, skuespill og hørespill. I hans egen generasjon må vi til utlandet for å søke begavelser på hans nivå: tyskeren Fassbinder, Sam Shepard i USA, svenskenes Lars Norén. Ikke minst i fornyelsen av den troverdige dialog står Udnæs sterkt, der replikkene ofte viser at den ene part ikke lytter til hva den annen sier. Som personinstruktør teller Udnæs blant de største i vår teaterhistorie.
