- STRUM, Wis. - Oscar Johnson, 84, Strum, died Sunday afternoon at the Osseo Area Hospital where he had been a patient since Wednesday. He was born Jan. 15, 1883, In the Town of Drammen to John Elshaug and Ellen Nelson.
He married Manda Stomprud in December 1929 and they moved here in 1931. He retired eight years ago. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of Strum Lutheran church.
Surviving are: His wife; a stepson, Clifford Stomprud, Cudahy, Wis.; a brother, 1) Elmer Johnson, Minot, N.D., and three sisters, 2) Mrs. Albert (Emma) Bruvold, Mondovi; 3) Mrs. John (Mary) Nelson, Pine City, Minn., and 4) Mrs. Gertrude Haggerty, Torrence, Calif. A brother 5) Leonard Johnson of Mondovi died in 1961.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Strum Lutheran, the Rev. Luther Munson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church chapel after 4 p.m. Tuesday and at the church in the afternoon on Wednesday.
