Mrs. Helmer Paulson taken wednesday after brief illness. Ten children survive.
The saddening word was received here early Wednesday morning, the passing at
McKennan hospital Sioux Falla, of Mrs Helmer Paulson who had been a patient there
for about a week. A little one born this morning is apparently well and strong,
but will grow up never have known the loving care and the kindness of a mother.
there are nine other living children, the oldest twenty years of age and the
youngest two and one half years old, who are left with their father to mourn the
sudden passing of their mother.
Mr. Paulson who was called at about 4:00 o'clock arrived too late to se his wife
before her passing.
Anna Dorothy Erickson was born January 23, 1886 at Hevne, Trondheim, Norway. At
the age of ten in 1896 she came with her parents to this country. The family came
once to the Centerville vicinity and she resided here ever since. Both parents
proceeded her in death.
At the age of twenty-three, December 6, 1909, she was married to Helmer Paulson
and they have resided in the Centerville vicinity ever since. Their present home
being 12 and one half miles northeast of Centerville. Eleven children came to Mr.
and Mrs. Paulson, one of whom dien in infancy. The living children are Paul,
Marie, Clifford, Josie, Hazel, Mable, Edith, Esther, Robert and the little babe
born just previous to the mother's death. Other surviving relatives are the
widow, a sister, Mrs. Ellen Johnson of Sioux Falls and two brothers, Anton of the
vicinity and Erick.
Mrs. Paulson was confirmed in the Lutheran church and has been a member of that
church body and an .. worker in the church ever since.
Funeral services will be held at ... from Melhus church, northeast of the city,
Friday afternoon. Rev. ...quist, pastor of the church will officiate.
